We are looking for an experienced Front Office DevOps Engineer to join our team in Hong Kong. Develop your talent and work in a fulfilling environment!

What you will be doing:

Overview
This role is for a Front Office DevOps Engineer to join the Equity Derivatives technology team seated on the fast-paced trading floor. The successful candidate joins a global team that focuses on the front to back development and support of the sales and trading workflows that includes activities such as RFQ negotiation, termsheet management, trade booking and more. This is a 75% support and 25% development role.

The main tasks are as follows but not limited to

  • Ensuring stability and availability of the platform including driving the proactive monitoring of the production environment agenda from Asia, focusing on anticipating problems rather than reacting to problems.
  • Being responsive, assess criticality/priority of problems and treat them accordingly. Escalate issues to the next level if need be; Gives effective and regular feedback to the end users.
  • Continuously document common problems and solutions and aim to solve them permanently through participating in bug fixes and/or improving the business process.
  • Aim to improve the overall efficiency of the SDLC process

Degree of Autonomy

  • The successful candidate is autonomous to contact business users directly to resolve problems and engage technology and other teams in the organisation to resolve problems.
  • The successful candidate is part of a global team, will have access to the code base and empowered to make changes to fix issues and grow the feature suite of the application.

Contacts

  • Direct contact with business users (front-office)
  • Contact with Operation Middle Officers
  • Frequent contact with other IT teams (Business Analyst, Development, Support) in Asia and other regions.
  • Frequent contact with helpdesk and infrastructure teams.
What you will ideally possess:

Experience

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in a technology function in banking is preferred

Technical Skills

  • Good knowledge in Java (Java 8+, Spring Boot, microservices)
  • Good knowledge on both UNIX and Windows environment
  • Good knowledge on PL/SQL on Oracle/Sybase/PostgreSQL
  • Good knowledge in Elastic Search / Kibana

Soft Skills

  • Good communication skills
  • Analytical mind
  • Fluent in English
  • Good knowledge on Global Markets activities on Equity and Structured products
  • Proactive / Innovative
